In February 2007 we launched the Five Flavors Herbs product line. The aim of Five Flavors Herbs is to create high quality herbal products that are safe and effective for use by consumers and clinicians alike. Our formulas are based on principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, scientific research, and traditional uses of North American native plants. The diversity of herbs we use reflects our training in these traditions.
Our combined expertise encompasses clinical herbalism, medicine making, wildcrafting, botany, organic gardening, and cooking. This blend of skills is the recipe for a unique set of herbal products that infuse not only knowledge, but also hard work and a deep love for plants into every batch.
Our products are highlighted by herbs that we garden or wildcraft ourselves. Herbs we purchase are from organic growers, including an increasing number of domestically produced, organically grown Chinese herbs. Other Chinese herbs we use are purchased from importers who demonstrate organic certification or provide assurance that herbs are never sprayed, fumigated, or irradiated. We use organic grain alcohol, organic olive oil, and purified water in our preparations.
