  • Five Flavors Herbs 344 40th Street Oakland, CA, 94609 United States (map)

The immediate postpartum period is an incredible stage in the life for a family and can be a time of unusual challenges and discomfort.  These classes will cover herbs and medicinal food for the new mom and baby (0-10 days) and birth partner(s).  We will explore internal and topical remedies to support lactation and breast health and physical discomforts from birthing.  We’ll include a variety of nutrient dense food preparation methods for restoring vitality and discuss placental food medicine and their controversies.  Along with herbs and foods we will share several reliable ‘barefoot doctor’ techniques from Chinese medicine for supporting the family, including moxibustion.

Be sure to sign up for both classes to get the full curriculum!
