Production Technician

JOIN OUR TEAM OF TALENTED HERBAL ENTHUSIASTS AND detail oriented PRO'S IN OUR fast paced manufacturing facility. WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH a COMMITMENT to quality Manufacturing and an interest in herbal supplements to come on board starting asap. 

HOURS: 32 HOURS PER WEEK MINIMUM, but 40 hours greatly preferred.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to perform daily lab tasks including batch record keeping, grinding, processing, pressing, and bottling herbal extracts.

  • Process botanical materials including fresh California medicinal plants and dried herbs from around the world.

  • Blend proprietary and custom herbal formulas

  • Help with bottling, sealing, labeling, and packaging finished products 

  • Understand and comply with basic principles of FDA Good Manufacturing Processes (cGMP)

  • Sanitation and maintenance

  • Maintain a clean and safe production space by performing dishwashing, daily cleaning, and equipment maintenance duties

  • Log these tasks according to SOPs

  • Order fulfillment & shipping

  • Fill, pack, and ship wholesale and web orders

  • Use Fishbowl  inventory management system (data management)

Preferred background and skills

  • Experience with Western herbs and Chinese herbs and formulas, including familiarity with botanical terms, Latin nomenclature, and pinyin

  • Experience making herbal medicine or commensurate experience (ie, commercial food production)

  • Experience working in some type of commercial production environment

  • Basic computing skills (Microsoft Word & Excel), basic applied math skills including algebra & unit conversions (ie, convert grams to oz, convert % of formula to mls)
