Retail Buyer & Sales Associate
24-32 hours weekly
Starting wage $19-22 commensurate with experience

-Primary contact between retail suppliers of supplements and non-supplements and Five Flavors Herbs retail sales department.
-Create and maintain supplier profiles in Revel with up to date contact information, instructions on how to place orders and archived past orders.
-Create and maintain relationships with buyers and document this in Revel or through a well organized email account.
-Receive, price and stage products for retail storefront.
-Merchandising retail products by investigating, researching, and curating FFH retail inventory in collaboration with Pharmacy team. Curation includes online selling and displays on social media and webstore. A minimum of 6 post to be spread out over a month each month. Work with Operations Manager and Practitioner Liaison to generate copy and images for our newsletter.
-In collaboration with management, organize sales and promotions related to sales opportunities presented by vendors, seasonal marketing or other events that we decide upon
-Responsible for managing inventory of all non-pharmacy retail items (including bulk Western herb but excluding TCM products) through pricing, tracking, and monitoring sales, waste and loss. Accurate reporting should be easily accessed.
-Adhering to a monthly budget. Presenting management with formal proposals when you would like to bring in new items and/ or exceed budget including why it is relevant and it’s vision for sale.
-Generates cost analysis of what was spent on product versus what was sold, proposals for sales and items to move out of inventory, and reports on best sellers.
-Primary contact for receiving and collating marketing material to share with staff to ensure excellent customer service of these products, as well as communicating with customers about how to use and pair with other items, and creating a display of shelf talkers, pamphlets, useful info on websites, calendars of trainings our staff could opt into, etc.
-Investigate, document, and handle appropriate customer complaints and returns.
-Support the Retail/Pharmacy Manager to ensure the daily operations of the Pharmacy/ Retail shop are being executed with high level production outcomes. This includes setting expectations for time management and distributing tasks based on skills.
-Deliver excellent customer service to retail customers and serve as a model for staff.
Excellent written and verbal communication
2-5 years experience in customer service
A minimum of 2 years management experience
Basic knowledge of TCM, Western Herbalism and natural health including familiarity with botanical terms, Latin nomenclature, and pin yin, as well as vitamins, supplements, and overall trends in the natural health marketplace.
Sales and outreach experience
Strong computer skills and proficient in Google applications and Microsoft applications
Basic mathematics including unit conversions and algebra
Operating POS system, over the phone and online ordering, and shipping orders.
Must be able to lift up to 30lbs in boxes, chairs and other furniture
Standing required for up to 8 hours a day
Steady hands and ability to pour from 1lb bottles
Comfortable in a fast paced retail environment
Clinical herbal experience.
Herbal pharmacy experience
Social media, SEO, web and graphic design experience are a plus
College-level coursework in business or marketing is a plus
Spanish and/or Chinese language skills a plus
